Tavneet Suri is the Louis E. Seley Professor of Applied Economics and a Professor of Applied Economics at the MIT Sloan School of Management. At J-PAL, she is the Scientific Director for Africa, Co-Chair for Agriculture, and Chair of the Digital Identification and Finance Initiative. Her research focuses on the adoption and impacts of technology in sub-Saharan Africa. She is also the former founding Editor in Chief of VoxDev. Tavneet completed her undergraduate studies in Economics at Trinity College, University of Cambridge in 1999, received her MA in International and Development Economics at Yale University in 2001, and her PhD in Economics at Yale University in 2006. She has been at MIT Sloan since 2006.
