Personal WebsiteFrank Schilbach is an Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His work focuses on the role of understudied correlates of poverty — alcohol consumption, physical pain, and sleep deprivation — in the lives of the poor, as well as the generation and diffusion of information about optimal agricultural inputs in sub-Saharan Africa. Frank graduated in 2008 from Mannheim University with a Diploma in Economics and earned an M.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley in 2009. He obtained his PhD in Economics from Harvard University in 2015.
